10 Movies We Can’t Wait To See In 2016

2016 Movies Main

The Revenant

When: January 8
Starring: Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Hardy, A Big Bear
Gotta See: The Revenant was shot under what the A-list actors have called the most grueling conditions of their career in Northern Canada. The Oscar buzz is big for this one, which means Leo may finally get that damn statute.

Zoolander 2

When: February 12
Starring: Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson, Kristen Wiig, Will Ferrell, Penelope Cruz, Good Looking People
Gotta See: Zoolander’s cultural impact can still be felt anytime you’re getting ready for a night out and tell yourself you look really, really, ridiculously good looking. The new trailer looks just as ridiculous(ly good looking) as we remember Derek Zoolander and we don’t want our international male models any other way.

Batman V Superman

When: March 25
Starring: Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Jesse Eisenberg
Gotta See: After months and months of speculation over whether or not Batfleck is up to the task of playing Bruce Wayne, the only way to truly know is by seeing one of the most expensive movies ever made.

Captain America: Civil War

When: May 6
Starring: Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Anthony Mackie, Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan
Gotta See: If one superhero is good, then 30 is better, right?

Finding Dory

When: June 17
Starring: Ellen DeGeneres, Idris Elba
Gotta See: Go ahead, pretend that some little forgetful cartoon fish didn’t have you weeping in your seat.

Central Intelligence

When: June 17
Starring: Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart
Gotta See: Kevin Hart plays the straight man to Dwayne Johnson’s confident badass in this hilarious CIA flick that has the two men teaming up to, you guessed it, save the world.

Ghostbusters

When: July 15
Starring: Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones, Kate McKinnon
Gotta See: One of these comedians being involved in a remake of the beloved Ghostbusters series is enough to make us run to the theatre. But all four? Who you gonna call when you bust your gut laughing? No, seriously, who do you call for that?

Ghostbusters

Bourne 5

When: July 29
Starring: Matt Damon, Vincent Cassel
Gotta See: The last true Bourne film was released in 2007 and while we know the world’s deadliest assassin is really good at hiding, we cannot wait for him to reveal himself again. Cue Moby.

Bourne 5

Suicide Squad

When: August 5
Starring: Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Jared Leto, Cara Delevigne, Jai Courtney
Gotta See: When 2015’s Comic Con featured panels with the casts of the year’s biggest shows and movies, yet the trailer for Suicide Squad became the most hyped release of the annual event, we knew big things were headed our way. The terrifying trailer shows an almost unrecognizable cast, with a special nod going to Jared Leto and his truly terrifying and original Joker. We. Can’t. Wait.

Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them

When: November 18
Starring: Eddie Redmayne
Gotta See: Before there was Harry Potter and the adventures of the boy wizard at Hogwarts, there was Newt Scamander (Redmayne) and the underground society of wizards in New York City. The new film arrives just in time to fill the JK Rowling void left by the end of the Potter series.
