Bruno Mars And James Corden Play The Hits On Carpool Karaoke

If you’ve ever wondered whether a scenario or outfit exists that could render Bruno Mars ‘uncool’ for even a moment, there isn’t. While appearing on Carpool Karaoke last night with James Corden, Mars tried on a number of ridiculous hats to test Corden’s theory that the Hawaiian born singer can pull off any look. Not surprisingly, he can.

Mars is the latest passenger to join Corden for a joyride around LA, with the two men spending most of the 15-minute clip performing a handful of the singer’s biggest hits.

The duo performed tracks from Mars’ third album 24K Magic, including the title track “Perm” and “Versace On The Floor,” which led to Corden pointing out that Mars missed including instructions on how to sensually remove a woman’s Spanx. It’s coming in the remix.

Revisiting some of Mars’ older hits, the two also sang along to “Locked Out Of Heaven,” “Grenade,” “If I Knew,” and Mars’ massive 2015 single with Mark Ronson, “Uptown Funk.”

There was little time left for small talk, but Corden did touch on Mars’ former days playing cards to pay the rent in LA and performing in an Elvis Presley review as a child, which led the two to an impromptu a capella performance of “Jailhouse Rock,” curled lip included.

As we’ve seen with previous Carpool Karaoke guests Justin Bieber and Elton John, Corden tried his hand at rocking Mars’ signature fashion style. With Mars’ encouragement, the two men finished their ride through LA looking very comfortable in silk shirts and shorts. Apparently, it’s very breathable.

While Corden and Mars’ Carpool Karaoke is one of the longest running of the viral segment, coming in at 15 minutes, it’s so fun we can’t believe it’s already over. Time to put our pinky fingers up and hit repeat.

Don’t miss The Late Late Show With James Corden every Monday to Friday at 12:30am ET on CTV. Catch up with episodes online here.
