Calvin Harris Explores His Ideal Virtual Reality In ‘My Way’ Video

Producer Calvin Harris may have made his mark on the music industry thanks to high profile collaborations with Ellie Goulding, Rihanna, Sia and more, but now the Scottish DJ is having a solo moment. You could say he’s doing this his way. Bah dum dum.

Harris dropped his latest single, “My Way,” in September, a follow-up to this summer’s massive hit, “This Is What You Came For,” his second duet with Rihanna. “My Way” shines the spotlight on Harris’ singing abilities, understated as they are, with a sing-songy chorus that has the song receiving strong radio play.

This isn’t the first time we’ve heard Harris hit the mic solo. His track “Summer” is one of his most recognizable hits, while “Flashback” also features Harris pulling double duty as musician and singer.

There’s been a large amount of speculation surrounding “My Ways” lyrics since the song was released. Namely, whether they point to Harris’ famous ex and “This Is What You Came For” songwriter Taylor Swift. In “My Way,” Calvin sings, “Why wait to say, at least I did it my way / Lie awake, two faced / But in my heart I understand / I made my move and it was all about you / Now I feel so far removed.”

Now Harris has dropped the music video for “My Way” and it appears he’s keeping the focus on himself, not his ex. Shocking!

Harris may be just as obsessed with HBO’s latest hit series Westworld as the rest of us. The new music video shows Harris diving into a virtual reality world that includes scenes on a farm, at a rave, and in an industrial area, all while chasing the same woman who appears to be hooked up to machines. Is she his Delores? Is he trying to win the game? We’re not sure, but the video has no shortage of the former Armani model smouldering his way through his brave new world.
