City And Colour Play A Toronto Landmark In ‘Wasted Love’

Wasted Love Main

Fans of grungy bathrooms and great nachos in Toronto will quickly recognize the setting for City and Colour’s latest video, Wasted Love. Teaming up for the first time with Director X, best known for his work with Justin Bieber, Kanye West and Drake, City and Colour travel to X’s hometown and more specifically, rock club Sneaky Dee’s, to shoot their new video.

In a surprising style change for City and Colour’s Dallas Green, the slick new video features a bevy of tattooed dancers and club patrons who sway and pose to the upbeat rock track. Shot inside the club and in a back alley, Wasted Love’s voyeuristic style of shooting makes the viewer feel like they’re at the party.

For his part, Dallas is never without his trusty guitar, often surrounded by his super-band of Jack Lawrence (The Raconteurs, Dead Weather), Dante Schwebel (Dan Auerbach), Doug MacGregor (Constantines) and Matt Kelly. Wasted Love benefits from the collective experience of the band, with sounds of The Black Keys and Jack White popping up throughout. Paired with Green’s emotionally raw lyrics and notoriously strong voice, Wasted Love makes for a sonically cohesive single.

City and Colour’s fifth studio album If I Should Go Before You was released earlier this month. Check out Wasted Love below.
