Earl Sweatshirt Drops Unreleased Track ‘Death Whistle’

Wed, September, 7 by

A new unreleased track from Earl Sweatshirt premiered last night on his Red Bull Music Academy radio show Stay Inside.

The first solo release from Sweatshirt since his acclaimed 2015 release, I Don’t Like Shit, I Don’t Go Outside, “Death Whistle” has production credits from Knxwledge, who you may know as the dude behind Kendrick Lamar’s “Momma.”

The dark and groggy track starts by giving a shout-out to “Edgar,” leading us to suspect that British artist King Krule, who produces under the alias Edgar The Beatmaker, might have offered a hand on the track, too.

Sweatshirt and Knxwledge also teamed last month up on “Balance,” as part of the 2016 Adult Swim Singles series. Clocking in at just under a minute, the effortlessly groovy track was just a teaser that had us hungry for more new music from the two. Check it out—and listen for the obvious similarities to Lamar’s “Momma.
