Fifth Harmony made their first public performance as a foursome last night at the People’s Choice Awards, and looked ready to take on 2017.
Prior to the show, Fifth Harmony’s Ally Brooke, Normani Kordei, Dinah Jane and Lauren Jauregui hit the red carpet in coordinating light pink dresses, showing off their individual style while still looking like a cohesive unit.
Taking the stage near the end of the show, Fifth Harmony appeared on stage dressed in coordinating black leather ensembles. The band, who recently said goodbye to fellow founding member Camila Cabello, performed their 2016 smash single “Work From Home” during the two-hour award show.
Opening the performance in large-scale individual frames that gave us some serious Destiny’s Child vibes, Fifth Harmony rewrote the first line of their single to reflect a more inclusive tone, singing, “We ain’t worried about nothing / We ain’t worried about nada.”
Displaying their names on the large screen above them, the women of Fifth Harmony re-introduced themselves to the world and showed they aren’t ready to leave their famous girl group behind. Taking turns on what were previously lines sung by former member Camila Cabello, Fifth Harmony looked and sounded confident in the first post-Cabello performance.
Following their performance of “Work From Home,” the group accepted their award for Favorite Group from presenter DJ Khaled, with Fifth Harmony’s Normani Kordei saying, “Thank you guys so much. This means the absolute world to us. We want to thank our Harmonizers for everything they do for us. We would be nothing without you, please believe that. We love you so much.”
Fifth Harmony plan to release their follow up to 7/27 sometime in 2017.
