Alessia Cara, Grimes And More React To Their JUNO Nominations On Twitter

The 46th annual JUNO Awards are around the corner and with the 2017 nominations being announced just yesterday morning, many Canadian artists couldn’t contain their excitement.

Although Drake, Shawn Mendes and The Weeknd lead the pack at five JUNO nominations apiece (see the full list here), artists including Grimes, Alessia Cara, Arkells and more took to Twitter to express their gratitude and enthusiasm in response to their nominations. Check out their reactions below.

While Alessia Cara gushed over performing at the Canadian award show for the second time, Ruth B. was overwhelmed by her nominations.

Alt-rock band Arkells tweeted about the JUNOs being a celebration of Canadian musical excellence and talent.

Billy Talent’s Ben Kowalewicz thanked the JUNO Awards and shared his congratulations with fellow artists.

The Strumbellas had a hard time believing they’re nominated for Single of the Year.

Rapper Jazz Cartier praised the Rap Recording of the Year nominees for all being artists of colour.

While KAYTRANADA thinks his nomination is really cool…

It’s safe to assume Weaves also think their nomination is pretty cool.

And alt-rock band Dilly Dally tweeted over 10 exclamation marks to express their excitement.

Grimes, although happy about her nominations, is gearing up for stiff competition at this year’s awards ceremony.

The 2017 JUNO Awards take place on Sunday, April 2 and will broadcast live on CTV and CTV GO from Ottawa’s Canadian Tire Centre.
