Justin Timberlake And Anna Kendrick Are Giving Us #FriendshipGoals At Cannes

Anna and JT at Cannes

The Cannes Film Festival is officially underway and while much of the focus for the annual event is on new films, stunning red carpet looks, and scenery that gives us more FOMO than we can handle, this year the festival is giving us something else: #FriendshipGoals.

The upcoming Trolls film is featured at the festival this year (we assume they brought their fanciest gem stone bellybuttons for Cannes) and its two lead stars are just about the cutest duo we’ve seen since, well, actual Troll dolls.

Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake star as Poppy and Branch in the animated film, set for release November 4, but in real life they star as Hollywood A-listers who are the coolest new friend duo since Schumer and Lawrence.

First there was JT’s Trolls-edition music video for “Can’t Stop The Feeling,” which starred a dance-like-no-one-is-watching Kendrick along with fellow Trolls actors James Corden, Gwen Stefani, Ron Funches, and Kunal Nayyar.

Then the two walked the red carpet together at Cannes, both in glam mode and in more relaxed outfits for the Troll-inspired event.

The new friends have been popping up on one another’s social media feeds with Timberlake posting this picture showcasing just how serious Cannes can be.

Now the duo have reached ultimate #FriendshipGoals status thanks to an incredible performance of Cyndi Lauper’s “True Colours,” the perfect song for their bright-hair-loving film. Introducing themselves as “Anna and Garfunkel,” the duo are now making us hope for a duet album we didn’t even know we wanted a day ago.
