Kesha Joins Zedd For New Version Of His Song ‘True Colors’

One of Kesha’s biggest supporters through her ordeal with producer Dr. Luke has been Grammy Award winning DJ Zedd. Most recently, the two worked on a new version of Zedd’s song “True Colors”, which was featured on his 2015 album of the same name. The track was slated for release tomorrow, but found its way onto the Internet earlier today. You can listen to Kesha and Zedd’s new collaboration below.

The collaboration began in February when Zedd reached out to Kesha via Twitter, expressing how upset he was about the situation with Dr. Luke and that he was happy to produce a song for the singer if she wanted his help.

As the months passed, fans wondered if this song would ever be made. Fast-forward to Coachella Weekend One and festival goers were treated to a very special surprise during Zedd’s 9:30 p.m. set. Kesha walked onto the stage to absolutely slay “True Colors”.

Zedd was clearly very happy about the guest appearance and the fans ate it up. So what’s the next step after you collaborate on a song for a live performance and receive overwhelming support? Well, you take that magic to the studio. Both Kesha and Zedd posted pictures on Instagram pages of their partnership in motion. You can almost feel the absolute relief from the singer that she was once again able to produce music for her fans. The feeling is mutual, Kesha.

As Zedd said on Twitter, music can be freedom, especially for someone who has seen her freedom taken from her in recent months. Zedd then went on to clarify that both Dr. Luke’s Kemosabe Records and RCA Records gave the pair permission to release the song. Hopefully this marks the return of one of the biggest pop stars of the late 2000s.
