Kiesza Rocks Her New Video For ‘Dearly Beloved’

dearly-beloved

Canadian pop singer Kiesza is back with new music and what she calls the ‘next chapter’ in her career, releasing the inspiring single “Dearly Beloved” and a video to boot.

Displaying her incredible showmanship, Kiesza carries on her tradition of one-take music videos (“Hideaway”) and rocks out with her guitar in an empty white room. Directed by Supple Nam, Kiesza easily fills up the screen with her performance and kaleidoscopic-like track suit, dancing and singing with an enthusiasm and veracity that refuses to let the viewer look away.

“Dearly Beloved” is one of Kiesza’s most personal songs, written in memory of her best friend. Kiesza posted a message about her late friend along with the video, writing, “When my best friend Alice passed away nearly a year and a half ago, her white electric guitar was passed along to me. In her memory and because I love her so much, I promised myself that I would not let it sit in its case collecting dust. I was going to play the hell out of it, just as she would have done. So that’s what I’m doing. Inspired by her and all of you, I am absolutely ecstatic to be able to start off this new chapter with my new song, Dearly Beloved.”

Kiesza broke on to the music scene with her high energy and infectious lead single “Hideaway” back in 2014, before dropping her debut EP of the same name and her dance-infused debut album Sound of a Woman later that year.

Fusing dance, pop, EDM and disco, Kiesza quickly became an artist to watch, not only because of her Broadway-esque vocals and exciting fusion of sounds, but literally because she was so fun to watch. A trained dancer, Kiesza’s high energy performances, including the 2014 iHeartRadio MMVAs, translated into her music videos.
