Kings Of Leon Continue Murder Mystery In New ‘Reverend’ Video

Kings of Leon have released the third instalment in their string of sci-fi murder mystery music videos—and it’s just as strange of an affair as the first two.

The new music video is for their latest single “Reverend,” the third single off their most recent album WALLS, which was released this past October as the follow-up to 2013’s Grammy-nominated Mechanical Bull.

Consider the music video for “Reverend” one part Stranger Things mixed with one part The Walking Dead, but replace the zombies with ’80s-esque teenage cheerleaders.

“Reverend” is weird and eerie, following the group of cheerleaders who appear to be possessed by the energy of a bizarre glowing orb that starts to derail small-town American life. Anyone who goes near the orb mysteriously dies and local authorities struggle to get to the root of the problem. The video ends on a cliffhanger with the creepy, pony-tailed assassin from the “Waste A Moment” video returning for a showdown against the orb.

We’re still trying to figure out what this all means, but hopefully more videos are in the works for the band so they can get to the bottom of the mystery. Watch the other two video instalments in “Waste A Moment” and “Find Me” below.
