While indie songstress Lykke Li hasn’t released a solo album since 2014’s I Never Learn, she has found time to form the new supergroup LIV with members of fellow Swedish acts Miike Snow and Peter Bjorn & John. Today, the trio have released their debut single “Wings of Love,” which sounds just as dreamy as the title would suggest.
Produced by Lykke’s boyfriend Jeff Bhasker (Kanye West, Mark Ronson, .fun), the mid-tempo folk rock ditty evokes ’60s sentiments with its layers of falsetto harmonies and a psychedelic guitar riff that swirls around the acoustic base.
Although Lykke put her solo work on hold, the other members have had a busy year—with Miike Snow releasing their excellent third album iii this past March, and Peter Bjorn & John dropping their seventh LP Breakin’ Bad in June.
There’s no word yet on whether or not an album is in store for the new group, but in the meantime, you can enjoy their breezy first single below.
