Nicki Minaj is returning to the MTV VMAs stage this Sunday! The rap artist is taking a break from her hugely successful Pinkprint Tour to hit the stage at the VMAs for a second year in a row!
Minaj’s last performance at the VMAs was in 2014, when she pulled double duty, performing Anaconda and later joined her collaborators Jessie J, Ariana Grande, and only half of her dress for Bang Bang. Nicki has taken home two Moon Men in the past for Best Hip Hop Video for Super Bass and Best Female Video for Starships. This year, she’s up for three awards, including Best Female Video and Best Hip Hop Video for Anaconda and Best Collaboration for Bang Bang.
In addition to Minaj, Justin Bieber was also just added to this year’s list of VMA performers.
Earlier this week, the initial line up was announced with Demi Lovato, The Weeknd, Tori Kelly, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, Twenty One Pilots with A$AP Rocky and Pharrell set to perform during Sunday’s live show from the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles.
The live show will also feature Kanye West receiving the Michael Jackson Vanguard Video Award, with past recipients including Justin Timberlake, Beyonce, and Britney Spears. In 2006, West presented the award to Hype Williams, with the two having worked on over 20 music videos together.
Nick Jonas will be kicking off the 2015 MTV VMAs early, performing his new single Levels during the red carpet show. Walk The Moon will also perform on the red carpet. If that’s not enough to get you tuning in early (and it really should be), the VMA pre-show will also feature the debut of Taylor Swift’s latest Joseph Kahn directed video for her single, Wildest Dreams.
