Osheaga Day 1: The Celebrations of 10 Have Just Begun

The end of summer’s right around the corner, and that’s got us thinking that Osheaga might be our last hurrah. Located at the Parc-Jean Drapeau in downtown Montreal thousands of people came to help celebrate the 10th anniversary of the festival.

The festival invited veterans and newcomers to play the five stages on site. Earlier in the day, first-timer Marina and the Diamonds rocked the main stage. She threw it back to her first album with a performance of “I Am Not A Robot” and rocked a blue satin unitard and a headpiece that read “FROOT”.

The threat of rain didn’t damper the spirits of any attendees or slow down any of the festivities. Osheaga veterans Stars also celebrated the tenth birthday of their third studio album Set Yourself On Fire by playing the entire album front to back. They invited friends and other Osheaga performers like Bahamas and Patrick Watson to come on stage and perform with them.

Across the grounds on a side stage, FKA Twigs paid homage to her past profession as a backup dancer in her stunning performance of “Video Girl”. She coupled with her eccentric dance moves with colourful lights and fog.

Check out our photos below and be sure to stay tuned for tomorrow’s recap.
