Sia Releases Emotionally Charged New Single ‘Alive’

Sia Alive Main

Sia’s new single Alive was not meant for the Australian singer. Actually, none of the songs included on her upcoming seventh studio album were written for Sia.

This Is Acting is comprised of a tracklist of songs penned by the singer/songwriter for other artists. The album’s first single Alive was written by Sia, Adele and Tobias Jesso Jr. for Adele’s upcoming album, but was scrapped. Who else can come close to hitting Adele-notes? Well, Sia for sure.

The emotionally charged first single from This Is Acting starts off soft, with Sia singing, “I was born in a thunderstorm/I grew up overnight/I played alone, I played on my own, I survived”. The song revs up for the chorus, with Sia singing like a woman who has been through hell and lived to tell about it. We’re already getting goosebumps just imagining what the video will look like!

The upcoming album, which she has yet to announce a release date for, is Sia’s first since 1000 Forms Of Fear. The 2014 album included hits like Chandelier and Elastic Heart and earned the singer four Grammy nominations.

In addition to writing for Adele, Sia has also worked with pop’s biggest names, including Beyonce and Rihanna.
