Sleigh Bells Drop Fierce New Track ‘Rule Number One’

Sleigh Bells Rule Number One

It’s been three years since rock pop duo Sleigh Bells released their last album with 2013’s Bitter Rivals. After a few singles here and there, it appears members Alexis Krauss and Derek E. Miller are ready to drop their follow-up. We’ve been waiting.

The band have now launched the ferocious “Rule Number One,” a track that was appropriately released today and contains the lyrics “Mostly okay, but I’m bleeding profusely / Mostly okay, but only on Tuesdays.”

The high energy song does a 180 at the midway point, easing off the gas pedal and delivering a softer pop track that wanders into a dreamy trance space. “Rule Number One” ends up sounding like two songs put together, a tactic that builds excitement and keeps the listeners on their toes.

Zane Lowe debuted “Rule Number One” on Beats 1 Radio today. Check it out below.
