Director Peter Huang and SonReal have been ruling the music video game together since 2013, a partnership we’ve shone the spotlight on for good reason. Now the two are back at it again, this time with SonReal’s most notable foray into the pop world with “Hot Air Balloon.”

The West coast rapper has been hyping the new video for days on his Instagram page, hilariously adding himself to some of the biggest horror movies of the 1990s and 2000s.

Now SonReal has dropped his new video just in time for Halloween and thankfully for us scaredy cats, we can totally handle it.

Taking his cue from the first Scream film, the video opens with a phone call and ends with a parent being kidnapped, with a terrified female lead a sharp contrast to the upbeat, poppy “Hot Air Balloon” playing over top.

SonReal is an obsessed boyfriend who goes more than a little too far to get his girlfriend’s attention, even requiring a stunt double when she finally retaliates. But don’t worry, this horror film gets a happy ending.
