When it comes to weddings, guests can range from “helpful and supportive” to “it’s an open bar, not the last day on earth.” What couples usually don’t see on their seating chart is the biggest pop star in the world, but for one couple that’s just what they got.
Back in April, Taylor Swift fan Ali Singer wrote Taylor about her brother Max and his new wife Kenya Smith. The two got married in a hospital room so that Max and Ali’s mother could be present. Max and his mother, who has sadly since passed away, danced to “Blank Space.”
Swift surprised the newlyweds at their New Jersey wedding this past weekend, not only posing for pictures and “third wheeling” it with the couple, but also performing “Blank Space.”
Swift also hand painted a card for the couple, with the lyrics “So it’s gonna be forever” surrounded in flowers. While performing the song, Taylor addressed what anyone who has listened to the lyrics would think, saying “I want to talk about the fact that when I wrote this song, I never in my life imagined I would be asked to play it at a wedding.”
Of course, this isn’t the first time Swift has been the ideal wedding guest. In February, she served as the Maid of Honour for her childhood friend Britany Maack, with her duties including scoring the duo custom Reem Acra gowns.
It’s no surprise that Swift is killing it at the wedding guest game. She’s been practicing for years.
