Taylor Swift Came For Kanye West In Her Grammy Acceptance Speech

Tue, February, 16 by

Taylor Swift, pop sensation and two-time Album Of The Year Grammy recipient is not someone to get on the wrong side of. Just ask Kanye West. (And Katy Perry. Or any of her exes.)

Taylor took home three Grammys last night for Best Music Video, Best Pop Vocal Album and Album Of The Year, but not before throwing some shade at Yeezus.

The two have yet another case of Bad Blood between each other after a controversial lyric in Ye’s latest album, The Life Of Pablo.

The lyric in question comes off the album’s fourth track, Famous. Ye raps, “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex/Why? I made that b**** famous“.

According to Kanye, he asked and received Taylor’s blessing before releasing the song. But after the media storm, Taylor’s camp denied this. A statement from Taylor Swift’s spokesperson started circulating saying otherwise, calling the song “misogynistic”.

FYI re Kanye/Taylor/"Famous" aka mom and dad broke up again

So when TayTay’s name was called for Album Of The Year for the second time in her life, she did not miss the chance to address Kanye’s claims.

“As the first woman to win album of the year at the Grammys twice, I want to say to young women: There are going to be people along the way who will try to undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame.” She said, pausing after the word to maximize the drama. “But if you focus on your work and don’t let those people sidetrack you, someday when you get where you’re going, you’ll look around and you’ll know it was you and the people that love you that put you there.”

Ouch. This is probably a warning to Kanye and all other rappers to fact-check their lyrics. No one gets to take credit for Taylor’s monumental success other than Taylor.

And if you’re going to shoot for the Queen, you better not miss.
