Taylor Swift leads with six nominations at this year’s American Music Awards, closely followed by Ed Sheeran and The Weeknd who earned five noms each.

Sheeran’s Thinking Out Loud, and The Weeknd’s Can’t Feel My Face are battling it out against Swift’s Blank Space for Song of the Year. Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth’s See You Again and Bruno Mars’ Uptown Funk are also in the running.

In addition to Song of the Year, Queen of Everything Taylor Swift is up for Artist of the Year, Collaboration of the Year, Favourite Female Artist, Favourite Pop/Rock Album, and Favourite Artist – Adult Contemporary. She’ll also be competing with Sheeran and The Weeknd in the Artist of the Year category.

Nominations for the AMAs are based on album sales, radio airplay, streaming and touring. Winners are decided by American fans through online voting and social media hashtagging and mentioning via Facebook and Twitter.

This year’s American Music Awards airs Sunday, November 2 at 8 p.m. ET and will be hosted by Jennifer Lopez.
