Hitmakers Calvin Harris and John Newman have teamed up to see if they can strike gold for a second time with their new summertime track “Olé.”
The Scottish DJ and English singer teamed up in 2014 for the track “Blame” from Harris’ fourth studio album Motion, hitting number one in the UK. Now the duo have teamed up again for the easy breezy track “Olé” that is totally giving us similar vibes of Omi’s breakout single “Cheerleader.”
The duo enlisted “Blame” director Emil Nava to create a music video that some sites are saying is three minutes of shade throwing. We recommend stretching before all the reaching you’re about to read.
The beach-loving resort video includes a handful of scenes that *could* be viewed as digs towards Harris’ famous ex Taylor Swift and her recent trips to the water with new boyfriend Tom Hiddleston. For example, Taylor sat in a chair on the 4th of July, the same piece of furniture Newman and Harris sit on in the video.
Hard to tell the two images apart, right? Don’t even get us started on how Taylor sat on a rock in the past year, a rock that we guess looks like the rock a model in the video sits on, even though a rock is kinda just a rock.
Did everyone also notice that Harris and Newman wear shoes in the video and we’re 99 per cent sure Swift has totally worn shoes before? The receipts are stacking up.
To us, the video just seems like a good excuse to expense a vacation in Mexico. Even if Harris was making reference to his ex, what’s he saying? We both have good posture? Not every rock in the whole world is a Taylor Swift rock? You’re not the only person who scored some UV exposure at the beach this summer? What?
The lyrics of the new track could possibly point to Harris, with Newman singing “I ain’t seen you or been with you for weeks / But I see online that you’ve begun to be
A good girl and take trips with your boyfriend / Being attentive, continue to pretend,” but that sounds more like it’s being sung from the perspective of Hiddleston. So that doesn’t add up either.
If there’s anyone Calvin Harris should be trolling, it’s Howie Mandel for this terrible ‘tailor’ joke the comedian made while presenting Harris with an award in Vegas over the weekend.

Can’t we all just enjoy the summer like Calvin Harris and John Newman and wear dress shoes on the beach?
