It’s been three years since Tegan and Sara’s groundbreaking album Heartthrob was released and catapulted the indie darlings into superstardom. The pop album was all over the charts thanks to its infectious lead single Closer and heartbreak how-tos like I Was A Fool and How Come You Don’t Want Me. Now the Canadian musicians have announced their eighth studio album, as well as the tracklisting and lead single.
Love You To Death is set to be released June 3, with the first single Boyfriend dropping this week on April 8.
The full tracklisting features nine songs in addition to Boyfriend, including That Girl, Faint of Heart, Dying to Know, Stop Desire, White Knuckles, 100x, BWU, U-turn, and Hang on to the Night. The Quin sisters are again working with producer Greg Kurstin, who helped create their album Heartthrob and has worked with Kelly Clarkson and Adele.
Before Tegan and Sara can hit the road to start touring their new disc, they have an important ritual that has been part of their career since day one. Choosing a new hairstyle.
In this new video on Funny of Die, the Quin sisters poke fun at their affinity for trying new looks with every album cycle. Quickly scrubbing through their history of hair, which is really impressive when you look at it all together, Tegan and Sara remember their days with mullets, longsies, shortsies, curlies, twirlies, and New Jersey flurries. And all Jennifer Aniston had was ‘the Rachel’. What an underachiever.
The musicians try out a wide, and we mean wide, range of styles for their new album, Love You To Death. We picked our own favourites, including:
The Big Bowl
The Marcia Clark
The Donald Trump
