The Lonely Island Drop A Hilarious Freestyle For Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping

The Lonely Island are preparing to release their first feature film, Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping, this week and that means a lot of hilarious R-rated music from the masterminds that brought us “Dick In A Box” and “I Just Had Sex.”

In the new film out Friday, Andy Samberg stars as Conner4Real, a pop star who embodies all the worst attributes that come with being a celebrity. Over-priced holograms, a group of yes-men and an ego bigger than his album sales all make up the world’s most notorious fictional pop star. The rest of The Lonely Island also appear in the film, with Jorma Taccone as Conner’s DJ and Akiva Schaffer as Conner’s reclusive lyricist.

The trio have released a handful of new songs from the 28-track soundtrack, including “Mona Lisa,” (‘Mona Lisa, you’re an overrated piece of sh*t’), “I’m So Humble,” featuring Adam Levine’s hologram, and “Finest Girl (Bin Laden Song).”

Conner4Real has now dropped yet another impressive track, this time starring friends he kinda-sorta-definitely paid. The latest release is a one-take music video, uploaded with the description, “Conner4real was in an alleyway with his best friends and decided to kick out this one-take video. It’s pretty dope.” It is pretty dope.

In addition to Levine, the new film features a laundry list of stars, including Simon Cowell, Carrie Underwood, Usher, Sarah Silverman, Martin Sheen, Will Arnett, Bill Hader, Tim Meadows, Will Forte, Seal, DJ Khaled, Snoop Dogg and Pink. Samberg’s wife, musician Joanna Newsom, also makes an appearance in the film as the woman who brings roadie Bill Hader back from the dead. Take that, Game of Thrones.

Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping hits theatres on June 3.
