The Week In The Weeknd News: What Else We’ve Learned About His Upcoming Album!

Wed, August, 19 by

We literally can’t feel our face here at Much right now! Why? Because we’re so close to the new Weeknd album!

Lately, The Weeknd has been been on fire from ranking third on the Billboard Artist 100 chart to modelling for Kanye.

While doing all of that, he has fans counting down the days to his highly-anticipated album Beauty Behind The Madness, which will be out on August 28! It will feature the hit singles, The Hills, Earned It (you know, that Fifty Shades of Grey song), and summer anthem Can’t Feel My Face. From what we’ve seen on the tracklist, Ed Sheeran, Lana Del Rey, and Labrinth will also be a part of this amazing album.

If you live under a rock and haven’t heard Can’t Feel My Face, you must listen to it below.

Wanna learn more about The Weeknd’s new album? Here are a few things we’ve learned over the past few days about Beauty Behind The Maddness:

In an interview with GQ, The Weeknd opens up about how he wrote songs with Ed Sheeran in Marilyn Monroe’s bedroom…huh, interesting!

Here’s what he said about writing with Ed Sheeran: “He was hosting the Much Music Video Awards in Toronto and I invited him, and pretty much the entire awards show, to my condo to party. It went on until about 5 in the morning but we didn’t write the song until that next day, so you can imagine how that night went. Ed also did a freestyle battle with Waka Flocka in my kitchen. That was pretty dope.”

The Weeknd talks about writing in Marilyn’s room: “Max’s studio used to be Marilyn Monroe’s old house and I came up with the concept for a song called ‘In the Night’ in her bedroom. That was pretty amazing.”

Not only did The Weeknd model for Kanye’s YEEZY Season 1 for the upcoming GQ issue, he also gave his fans a sneak performance of what to expect from his collab with Kanye on his upcoming album. The track is produced by Yeezy and it’s titled Tell Your Friends. Luckily, Travis Scott posted a snippet of the performance of the song recently on Instagram and now we can enjoy it too! Check it out.
