What Famous ’90s Movie Did One Direction Recreate In The ‘Drag Me Down’ Music Video?

One Direction Looks Like Armageddon Main

One Direction released their highly anticipated video for Drag Me Down today (check out our full recap here) and confirmed that our nightmare is real – Zayn Malik is no longer in One Direction. We know, we know, we should have been prepared to eventually see this in music video form, but it’s just so real now.

The video shows what it would look like if four lads with increasingly tight pants went to NASA and then flew off into space, essentially breaking the hearts of Directioners not only around the world, but around the galaxy. It’s a pretty literal take on the song, with the foursome showing that they can’t be dragged down by flying up as far as possible. But they look cute and the shots of NASA are cool, so we like it.

The video for Drag Me Down at first reminded us of one very famous video (see here) by another group of boy banders who have our heart, the Backstreet Boys. But that wasn’t the only ’90s flashback we got from Drag Me Down.

Here are One Direction walking in their new video.
