Where Is Post Malone’s Mixtape?

Wed, May, 4 by

When a new artist releases a song that makes waves and becomes a viral hit, the success can quickly turn to pressure as they look to capitalize on their new found fame. Often times, we see artists release a big song only to fail to maintain relevance by taking too long to release a project (we’re looking at you, Kreayshawn).

Last night (May 3), hip-hop’s newcomer Post Malone was the host with the most as he had an invite-only listening party for his upcoming mixtape at a private club in New York.

Thanks to fan videos taken at the club, we now know that Post has a song with Jaden Smith, and a song with Justin Bieber. He also has one unfinished song, and was excited when a fan suggested he get rapper Young Thug on the track. He also has a song dedicated to a basketball player (sound familiar?), this time for former Dallas Maverick Monta Ellis.

After his listening session, Posty took to Instagram to give everyone what seems to be a trailer for the mixtape. The clip shows an animated version of the mixtape cover. The text AUGUST 26 THE MIXTAPE then shows up. The most popular theory is that the mixtape is titled with the same date that Post’s debut album is set to arrive.

Let's party

Post Malone released the song you must have heard by now, “White Iverson,” back in August. After watching it blow up, people wondered if Post was just a one-hitter-quitter, or if he had some longevity in the rap game. Fans of the rapper have been waiting patiently for him to put out his mixtape, and it seems we are inching closer as the weeks go by.

The last eight months have been crazy for Post Malone. He released a now-Platinum single, was featured on songs by 50 Cent and Kanye West, and was even selected to open for Justin Bieber on his Purpose Tour.

You can check out the rest of the snippets from last night down below, and be on the lookout for new Post Malone coming soon.
