Who Are ‘Boy Better Know’ And Why Did Drake Get Their Tattoo?

Drake and BBK Main

Drake has never been an artist to shy away from letting fans know how he feels. Whether it’s sharing his emotionally rich lyrics or tweeting about his love for the 6, we’ve always loved that Drake keeps it 100.

When it comes to his feelings towards Boy Better Know, Drake is making things permanent. BBK member Skepta uploaded a picture today of Drake sporting some new ink, with the letters ‘BBK’ tattooed on his arm.

More than music. OVO BBK family for Life.

So who and what is Boy Better Know? Let’s find out.

Founded in 2005, Boy Better Know was created by two north London brothers, Skepta and JME. The group also includes Frisco, Jammer, Wiley, Shorty, Solo 45 and more, who you can meet in the video below.

This past summer, Drake invited BBK founder Skepta on stage during his July set at the Wireless Festival.

Drake also brought Skepta on stage during August’s annual OVO Festival.

Toronto 2015 #SHUTDOWN tomorrow. Very legendary, very historic.

The two have worked together in the past, both on remixes and in name/lyric dropping, with Drake referencing both Skepta and BBK in his lyrics.

The Brixton band are known for their grime style of music and for a short time where also known for their dance routine, The Rolex Sweep. It’s pretty much the Macarena, but we like it.

Drake isn’t the only fan of the grime group. Pharrell, Diplo, Tinie Tempha, Jay Sean and Chris Martin are all counted as fans of Boy Better Know.

You know who’s on production. Wow.

Skepta’s next album Konnichiwa doesn’t yet have a release date, but we wouldn’t be surprised to see it as the next record on the OVO roster.

Happy earth strong to a real don. @skeptagram #BBK
