Zayn Malik Channels Futurism In ‘Like I Would’ Video

Zayn Malik has been having a great year so far. His leading single “Pillowtalk” has over 400 million views on YouTube and has gone platinum in Canada, United States, and United Kingdom. Riding on the wave of success, Malik released his video for “Like I Would” at 9 p.m. on May 9. The most recent single from his debut solo album, Mind Of Mine, mixes electronic and R&B sounds. With a catchy hook and disco feel, the track is guaranteed to be stuck in your head for the rest of the summer.

The video, directed by Director X (who’s worked with Drake, Rihanna and Fifth Harmony, to name a few), features Malik in a neon outfit reminiscent of the 1982 film (and the 2010 sequel) Tron. Malik is seen in a light-up suit, accompanied by a hypnotizing laser show in the background. And in true half-cyborg fashion, Malik has a red contact in one of his eyes.

If the future includes robots that look like Zayn Malik, let’s hope we’re alive to experience it.
