While electronic duo Zeds Dead may have been around for six years now, they only recently cracked the mainstream with their infectious Twin Shadow and D’Angelo Lacy collab, Lost You. (In fact, the music video for the track took home an MMVA this year for Best Post-Production.) So how does it feel to hear and see your music being played everywhere?

Lost You has been a really cool experience,” Zach Rapp-Rovan tells our very own Tyrone Edwards. “Seeing our video on TV and hearing it on the radio is just a new experience for us and it’s really interesting to see kind of underground music get up there. I don’t think this could’ve happened six years ago.”

This past summer, Zeds Dead teamed up with some of dance music’s biggest names including Skrillex, Diplo, Anna Lunoe and Kiesza for the annual Full Flex Express tour. The tour, which was indeed a travelling train that included a bar car and even a refurbished studio, was an incredible platform for the duo to continue gaining new fans, but their tour mates are all old pals of theirs.

“We’ve known everybody on the train for a long time,” Rapp-Rovan says. “Skrillex, Diplo, we go back with them so already being comfortable with them was definitely a plus.”

With a studio on the road with them, the tour has undoubtedly spurred some spontaneous collabs and this is especially true for Zeds Dead and a fellow Canadian musician. “We have something we’ve been working on with Kiesza,” Rapp-Rovan teases, not giving much more information than that. “[The Full Flex Express] is just a great group of people, there are so many types of music represented, I think this will lead to some cool collaborations.”
