Bringing in some of the biggest stars from pop-culture, music, film, and TV, yesterday marked the 45th E! People’s Choice Awards. Fans had the power to select their favourite faces and names in entertainment, and last night some of those names—43, to be exact—were honoured during a live broadcast.
The PCAs always have something for everyone, and this year’s show did not disappoint. Pink talked about changing the world, Kevin Hart made his first major public appearance since his car accident, the red carpet brought some fire looks, and many heartfelt speeches were made. You name it, you got it.
In case you missed it last night, we’ve got you covered. Below are the top five moments from this year’s E! People’s Choice Awards.

Canadian heartthrob Shawn Mendes was nominated in four different categories this year. Unfortunately he was too busy finishing up his world tour to attend the show in person, but despite his absence Mendes took home the award for Male Artist for the second year in a row. In related news, Mendes and Camila Cabello won the Song of 2019 award for their hit tune “Senorita.”

This year, drag performer Brooke Lynn Hytes slayed the competition and took home the award for Most Hype Worthy Canadian. The Toronto dancer rose to fame on RuPaul’s Drag Race and is known by fans and subjects alike as the Queen of the North. Hytes competed against seven of her fellow Canadian celebrities, including Drake and Celine Dion, but ultimately the Queen came out on top.
It’s no surprise that Zendaya took home the award for Drama TV Star of 2019 for her role in the hit series Euphoria. The show, which Drake co-produced, took the world by storm this past year. Last night the 23-year old actress delivered a heartwarming acceptance speech, claiming that the series is one of the most beautiful things to ever happen to her. And that’s not all—Zendaya also won the award for Female Movie Star of 2019 for her role in Spider-Man: Far From Home.
Canadian singer Alessia Cara gave us a special performance of her hit song “Rooting For You.” Before taking the stage, the 23-year old admitted that she was nervous to sing the catchy tune live. Nerves definitely did not get in the way of her performance, however, as she had audience members out of their seats and dancing in the aisles.
This year gave us some jaw-dropping red carpet looks. Storm Reid had heads turning in a patterned bold blue dress with statement shoulder pads, Kourtney Kardashian showed up in a striped power suit, and Gwen Stefani stole the show in a white strapless Vera Wang gown. Unsurprisingly, Stefani took home the People’s Choice Award for Fashion Icon 2019.
