5 Seconds Of Summer Announce New Album ‘Youngblood’ And Fall Tour

It looks like there’ll be more than five seconds of summer this year.

Australian pop-rock band 5 Seconds of Summer will be dropping their highly anticipated third studio album Youngblood on June 22.

The band shared the news via social media along with the new record’s cover art.

Youngblood is the follow up to 2015’s Sounds God Feels Good, which saw hits like “She’s Kinda Hot” and “Hey Everybody!”

The band kicked off #5SOS3 this past February with the release of the new LP’s lead single “Want You Back”—the group’s first single in nearly two years. The new song is much different than their of their previous tracks, and hears 5SOS leave behind the pop punk sound that had them drawing comparisons to Blink-182 and Sum 41, re-emerging instead with a mature, pop sound.

The band is currently touring small venues to promote the single with stops in Europe, North America, and Australia.

In addition to the album announcement, 5SOS also revealed the first round of dates for their upcoming Meet You There Tour. The fall tour is set to launch August 27 and will hit 25 cities across North America, including one Canadian stop in Toronto.
