Adele stole the show last night at the 36th Brit Awards. She went home with four awards including British Female Solo Artist, British Single, British Album of the Year and Brits Global Success.
Between a two dress changes, a few teary acceptance speeches, a slipped curse word and her amazing live performance of When We Were Young, it was a huge night for the 27-year-old. Watch all the memorable moments that went down last night below!
Her acceptance speech for this award is one of the most-talked about moments from last night. In addition to a heartfelt message to her fellow female nominees, at the end of her speech, Adele takes a moment to publicly support Kesha, who is in the midst of an ongoing legal battle with her record label and producer, Dr. Luke.
Up on the stage for the third time in the night, Adele gets a little emotional when talking about making her record, 25. This time around, she thanks her boyfriend and her son: “I’m so lucky to have you,” she said. “and thank you for our lovely son, who is the love of my life. This is all for you, Peanut. I love you so much.”
Adele’s last award was the most grand–she was awarded with a Global Success honor. Past recipients include Sam Smith and One Direction. “I got really lost for a while and I didn’t know if I’d ever come back and for you all to be so kind to me is so nice,” she said between sobs.
To cap off an amazing night, Adele closed the show with a performance of When We Were Young. Bouncing back like her Grammy’s mishap didn’t even happen, Adele straight killed her When We Were Young performance, performing a perfect, stunning and beautiful rendition.
