Music award shows have become one of the most popular ways for artists to promote new video releases, and last night’s Billboard Music Awards were no exception.
Debuting her brand-new music video for “Send My Love (To Your New Lover),” Adele jumped on the award show-premiere band wagon and delivered yet another smash from her record breaking 2015 album, 25.
Writing the single with hit-makers Max Martin and Shellback, Adele delivers an upbeat send-off to a former lover, giving a tongue-in-cheek goodbye after finding out an ex has moved on to a new relationship.
The video is simple and beautiful in its execution, with multiple Adeles being layered on top of one another. Performing in a floor-length floral gown in a black room, Adele delivers one of her trademark emotional performances as she’s turned into a kaleidoscope of herself.
“Send My Love (To Your New Lover)” was shot in London by director Patrick Daughters, who’s best know for Feist’s “1234” video.
