Angel Olsen Is Queen Of The Roller Rink In ‘Shut Up Kiss Me’

Angel Olsen

If you’re not listening to singer-songwriter Angel Olsen, now’s the time to start. The folk musician has been consistently releasing outstanding indie tracks both as a solo artist and with Bonnie Prince Billy since 2009. In 2014, she began gaining traction outside of her indie circle with her breathtaking solo debut album, Burn Your Fire For No Witness.

Now, Olsen is preparing to drop her sophomore solo full-length, My Woman, on September 2, an event she kicked off on June 1 with a new video for “Intern.”

The video was described as a “Trailer” and now with Olsen’s second release, it appears the videos from My Woman will continue with the same visual theme.

Hitting YouTube this week, Olsen’s new single, “Shut Up Kiss Me,” features the singer hanging out in a small town, hitting a bar, a roller-skating rink, a park and a car, all while wearing the same silver tinsel wig and carrying the same rotary phone from “Intern.”

The new track focuses on the poppier side of Olsen without losing the singer’s dreamy vocal quality, with the fast-paced chorus demanding the object of Olsen’s affection “Shut up, kiss me, hold me tight.”
