Ariana Grande dropped her highly anticipated third studio album, Dangerous Woman, this past May, which included hit singles “Dangerous Woman” and “Into You.” But that doesn’t mean the singer’s done releasing new tunes.
Grande surprised fans with two previously unreleased tracks this week on her SoundCloud page: “Voodoo Love” and “OG Honeymoon Ave” featuring the Dap Kings.
Both tracks were recorded for Grande’s 2013 debut album, Yours Truly, with “OG Honeymoon Ave” being re-recorded and turned into the slowed down “Honeymoon Ave” that eventually did make the record. The newly-released Dap Kings version is a playful big band version of the track, with the lyrics remaining the same. Fingers crossed Grande performs this one in concert sometime soon, because it’s pretty killer.
We would also love to hear Grande belt out the track, or really anything (we’ll settle for the phone book), with The Dap Kings lead singer Sharon Jones. Now *that* would be an amazing duet.
Grande’s “Voodoo Love” is a fun pop ditty that sounds similar to the singer’s 2012 duet with Mika on the track “Popular.” While we can understand how “Voodoo Love” wasn’t strong enough to make Yours Truly, it’s still a fun listen.
