Listen To Ariana Grande And John Legend Perform The ‘Beauty And The Beast’ Theme

Beauty Ariana John

When Disney announced that Ariana Grande and John Legend would be taking on the award winning Beauty and the Beast theme made popular in 1991 by Celine Dion and Peabo Bryson, we thought they had found the perfect pair to bring the song into 2017. And really, the only person who can sing Celion Dion almost as well as Celine Dion is Ariana Grande.

Now, Disney has released the final trailer for the upcoming live action remake of Beauty and the Beast featuring Legend and Grande’s theme song—and it’s even prettier than we hoped it would be.

Thankfully, Legend and Grande’s duet doesn’t mean Dion will absent from the Beauty and the Beast soundtrack. Making the announcement on her social media accounts on January 19, Dion revealed that she will be performing a new original song for the soundtrack. “I am thrilled to announce that I’ll be performing an all-new original song, ‘How Does A Moment Last Forever,’ for Disney’s live-action Beauty and the Beast,” wrote Dion on her Instagram page. “Being a part of the original film was such a magical experience in my life, and I’m truly honored to be a part of this film again.”

Thanks to her work on the animated version of Beauty and the Beast back in 1991, Dion’s duet with Peabo Bryson for the film’s theme helped the animated film take home both the Academy Award and the Golden Globe for Best Original Score. The track, written by Alan Menken and Howard Ashman, also won Best Original Song at the Globes.

Dion will be reunited with Menken as well as Oscar-winning lyricist Tim Rice for the new original song, “How Does A Moment Last Forever.”

In addition to Dion’s “How Does A Moment Last Forever,” the upcoming remake will include a performance of another original song from Downton Abbey star Dan Stevens, who plays the Beast opposite Emma Watson’s Belle.

Watson and Stevens will be joined on screen by an all-star cast, including Luke Evans as Gaston, Emma Thompson as Mrs. Potts, Josh Gad as Le Fou, Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Plumette, Audra McDonald as Madame De Garderobe, Kevin Kline as Belle’s father Maurice and Stanley Tucci as a new character named Cadenza (check out the stunning character posters here).

Beauty and the Beast will arrive in theatres on March 17.
