Real-life couple and lovers of all things ’90s Ariana Grande and Mac Miller have released their latest music video together for the track “My Favorite Part”—and Brandy would be proud.
The two first worked together on the remix of “The Way” off Grande’s 2013 debut album Yours Truly. The new lovebirds recently teamed up again for a remix of Grande’s single “Into You” off her latest album Dangerous Woman and this past fall hit the studio together for a third time to work on Miller’s album.
In September, the duo released “My Favorite Part,” a single from Miller’s fourth studio album The Divine Feminine, which dropped September 16.
The new video shows the duo as neighbors who are secretly in love, pining for one another through their shared wall. Dressed in bomber jackets, Calvin Klein underwear and wide-legged jeans, the two continue their nod to the late ’90s and early 2000s by honouring videos like Brandy and Monica’s “The Boy Is Mine” and Dido’s “White Flag,” getting literal with putting up ‘walls.’ We recently saw this style of shot with Noah Cyrus and Labrinth’s debut video for “Make Me (Cry),” though they were falling out of, not in love. The wall separation is a staple in music videos and one that usually delivers. It’s a metaphor and we get it.
Ariana Grande’s Dangerous Woman Tour is set to kick off February 2, 2017, and will make three stops in Canada.
