In an exciting announcement today, Much’s parent company Bell Media has announced its new partnership with iHeartMedia.
The US media giant, whose name you may recognize from their many iHeartRadio music festivals and radio stations south of us, are teaming up with Bell Media to bring free digital radio and music streaming services to Canada.
The new deal will make live and televised events, including music, sports, news and more, available to stream for free.
Once available in Canada, iHeartRadio will offer all of Bell Media’s digital radio stations on mobile devices, car dashes and more.
In today’s press release, Randy Lennox, President, Entertainment Production and Broadcasting, Bell Media said “We are partnering with the fast-rising iHeartRadio brand to develop its incredible presence in Canada through our leading platforms. We will deliver a digital service that will serve our listeners across the country, providing them with great music, news and sports, as well as relevant and customized content from Bell Media radio and television assets, while providing dynamic and measurable advertising opportunities to our clients.”
The new partnership will give Canadians access to US-based iHeartRadio events, including the iHeartRadio Music Festival, Country Festival and Pool Party. Canada will be the fourth country to offer iHeartRadio programs, following the US, Australia and New Zealand.
