There’s a whole new wave of rappers getting in-touch with their sensitive sides and showing their hometowns love. Drake is no longer just a rapper who loves Toronto, he’s a rapper who loves Toronto and has his very own mood. Similarly, Chi-Town’s Chance The Rapper has gone from rapping about how acid has made him crazy to rapping about how much he loves God. Following this sensitivity trend, Big Sean has released an inspirational short film where he shows his appreciation for his hometown, Detroit.
The four-minute short film, titled, Anthem Of Us, is presented by the real estate company Bedrock Detroit and features an unscripted narration from Big Sean.
But Anthem of Us isn’t your typical real estate video. Using surprisingly uplifting messaging, Big Sean’s monologue meant to promote the city of Detroit transforms into an artistic piece on living and learning that is bound to give you goosebumps. Feeling down about exam SZN, the ending of your favourite TV show or your iPhone running out of storage? Well don’t fear. Big Sean is here.
