Guess who’s back again?
Bruno Mars made his return to the SNL stage this past weekend and officially put other musical guests on notice – there is a way to turn the small SNL stage into a full-on dance party. You just have to be Bruno Mars.
Setting the bar for all other musical performances, Mars performed his new single “24K Magic” from his upcoming third studio album of the same name, his first record since 2012’s Unorthodox Jukebox. Backed by his band, Mars and his team of singers started the incredibly entertaining and coordinated performance off-stage, dancing their way through a group of women and finally reaching the stage to cap off the joyful performance. Mars’ commitment to showmanship is still strong on his new album, with Saturday’s performance a welcome return for fans who have desperately missed Mars and his Motown-esque discipline.
Mars’ second performance of the night featured the new track “Chunky,” which packs just as much energy as the lead single. Sticking to the stage throughout the performance, Mars’ and his back up singers were step and pitch-perfect, singing the independent woman-praising new single.
The “Uptown Funk” singer revealed his plans for a new album at the beginning of the month, dropping the audio and high-rolling Las Vegas strip video for “24K Magic” only a few days later on October 7.
Bruno Mars’ third studio album 24K Magic is set to be released in full on November 18.
