Watch Bruno Mars And Zendaya In ‘Versace On The Floor’ Video

There are few artists who can sing an early 1990s R&B jam and incorporate a high-end fashion retailer while still being relatable and unpretentious. There’s Bruno Mars and…actually that’s it.

The singer is currently on tour in support of his long-awaited 2016 24K Magic and has just the third music video. Following the release of the title track and video back in October, and the single and video for “That’s What I Like” in March, Mars has once again stuck to the adage of ‘good things come to those who wait.’

Surprising fans late this weekend, Mars dropped his brand new video for the silky smooth “Versace On The Floor.”

The video stars model, actor and activist Zendaya, who wears her mini gold Versace dress.

Zendaya and Mars play neighbors who spend the night pining for one another. Mars takes up residency at the piano to perform his latest single, while Zendaya does what the rest of us would do if we were neighbors with Mars and hugs the wall in hopes of hearing a private concert from the Grammy winner.

The video falls somewhere in the middle of the party loving opulence of “24K Magic” and the simplicity of “That’s What I Like.” In “Versace On The Floor,” the success of the vide is reliant on both its stars being able to command the viewer’s attention with little to storyline, something that both entertainers easily achieve.

The video was directed by Mars along with Cameron Duddy, who has shot a number of Mars’ videos, including “Uptown Funk,” “The Lazy Song,” “Locked Out of Heaven” and “Treasure.”

Zendaya isn’t the first A-list leading lady Mars has cast to play opposite him in a music video. Mars’ 2012 music video for “Gorilla” starred Slumdog Millionaire actor Freida Pinto, which was also directed by Mars and Duddy.

As for Zendaya, the social media star has been an active participant in chasing down a Bruno Mars music video.

Even with the sexy new video, it’s nice to know that Bruno Mars is keeping his ego in check. He is still not only one of the coolest people alive, but also one with a great sense of humour.

Video release party lit!
