The wait is finally over—Bryson Tiller surprised fans by dropping new track “Let Me Explain” on his SoundCloud late last night. The hazy, R&B slow jam features Tiller’s smooth vocals over a 808-infused beat, laid out by producer Phoenix.
The 23-year-old Louisville native raps about trying to repair a broken relationship, begging his girl to forgive him for his wrongs. “Look what we’ve been through,” he sings. “Look at Jay and Bey, they going through some shit too / We made it through the struggle, let’s make it through this too.”
This is the first time we’ve heard young Tiller’s melodic voice on a new track since his feature on Chris Brown’s “Keep You In Mind” a few weeks ago.
And with the artist continuously hinting at an upcoming new project, this could mean a follow up to last year’s platinum certified T R A P S O U L is on the way.
In just over a year since the album’s release, Tiller has earned the spot as one of R&B’s hottest artists—garnering the attention of Drake, selling out his first tour, nabbing BET’s Best New Artist award and most recently receiving nominations for three 2016 American Music Awards.
