Buffer Festival is taking over Toronto this weekend, and we’ve got everything you need to know about it!
Here’s the skinny: Buffer Festival is an annual event that showcases video content from some of the most high-profile YouTubers.
Unlike other conferences and conventions like VidCon and BeautyCon that attract YouTube talent and hoards of fans to the city, Buffer Festival follows a more film festival-like structure. It focuses less on the celebrity of having YouTube content creators present and more on the high-quality video content being screened. This year, Buffer Festival’s third iteration, 200 videos alone will be premiered.
Rizzi will appear at the LGBT+ screening and Jus Reign will appear at the Sketch Comedy, Canadian Creators, and Comedy Vloggers screenings. Screenings are held at various theatres in the city’s Entertainment District and are hosted by various creators. They’re followed by a panel-style Q&A session where audience members are able to engage and learn from their favourite Internet personalities.
This year, Buffer Festival has introduced Creator Day, a day-long workshop for aspiring YouTubers interested in breaking into the professional business of content creating. Attendees will work alongside not only established content creators, but other industry members and experts. They’ll learn how to make better content, build a brand and also be mentored on the technical aspects of content creation for every thing production and post-production related.
If you’re not making it out to Buffer Festival, don’t worry—Much will be on the floor all weekend. Keep up with us for the next three days and be sure to check back for updates.
