With each new solo track Camila Cabello releases from her upcoming debut solo album, it’s becoming increasingly clear why the former Fifth Harmony member decided to strike out on her own. The 20-year-old singer is a one-woman band, with the ability to infuse her songs with influences across genres, mastering every beat she meets and curating a track listing that will have a little something for every listener.
Cabello is currently on tour with Bruno Mars as the opening act for his 24K Magic World Tour. Though she has yet to announce the official release date for her debut solo album The Hurting. The Healing. The Loving, that hasn’t stopped the pop singer from performing new songs in concert. Just last week, Cabello debuted her new track “Inside Out” on stage (watch here).
Now after a week of teases, Cabello has debuted two more tracks from her upcoming disc. Posting on her Instagram page, Cabello shared a picture of the front of a marquee displaying two new song titles, including “Havana” and “OMG” featuring Young Thug and Quavo, who Cabello previously worked with on Major Lazer’s “Know No Better.”
Sticking with the film theme, Camila uploaded individual teasers for both songs with music playing over top of a shot of an old-fashioned drive-in movie theater. Now Camila has released “Havana” and “OMG,” two songs that couldn’t be more different from each other and her other singles thus far—continuing to prove she’s one of the most exciting new artists of the year.
The Cuban-born, Miami-raised singer teams up with rapper Young Thug for the spicy single “Havana.” Co-written by Pharrell, “Havana” has both Cabello and Atlanta native Young Thug representing their roots, with Caballo singing “He took me back to East Atlanta, na-na-na / All of my heart is in Havana.”
The Latin-infused track arrives just in time to keep the summer heat going on the radio, with Cabello’s sexy song continuing the Spanish influence fans first heard on this year’s “Hey Ma” with J Balvin and Pitbull.
Today’s premiere also included the pop track “OMG” with Quavo, produced by Stargate. The slow grooving “OMG” is a sexy tune that has Cabello appreciating the physicality of her crush, with the song perfect for anyone looking for a sultry pump up track.
Let the reign of Camila Cabello begin.
