Mark Ronson is known for collabing with some pretty big names, always spawning top hits. Well he’s done it again, this time with Camila Cabello on “Find U Again.”
The new track is a synth-pop, emo heartbreak bop sure to hit right in the feels. It’s a song for the late nights, when all you wanna do is wallow in your heartbreak. That won’t be hard considering how catchy it is.
Miss “Crying in the Club” Cabello croons about never finding a love like the one she used to have. Lyrics like “This crush is kind of crushing me / I do therapy at least twice a week” and “There’s a you-shaped space in my bed / Always you-shaped thoughts inside my head,” will have listeners go soft and wistful for the love Cabello got to experience.
Premiering today on Beats 1, Ronson came on to provide some background on the song, explaining that Kevin Parker of Tame Impala created this melody a few years ago, but couldn’t find the lyrics or voice to complete the song.
When Ronson realized that Cabello would be the perfect fit, he “wrote her a text and explained what the record was about and she loved the whole concept, the heartbreak and the crying-dancing-singing thing.” He went on to explain to Zane Lowe that “when she came in the day to work on it… she’s like, ‘I kind of came up with something last night’ and then she just sang it. The whole shit was perfect.”
This collab is one of many for Cabello, who joined forces with Bazzi last year on the duet version of “Beautiful.” We don’t know too much about any upcoming solo singles, but her Insta bio does say “WRITING MY ALBUM LEAVE ME ALONE!!!!!!!!” so we know we can expect music from her soon enough.
Ronson has been steadily releasing singles off his forthcoming album, Late Night Feelings, which drops June 21. Featuring names like Miley Cyrus, King Princess, Alicia Keys, Lykke Li and Camila Cabello, we know this record will definitely be one to pay attention to.
