Camila Cabello and Pharrell Williams are ready for summer with the new track “Sangria Wine”—and we’re ready for them to pour us a glass.
The new single is a spicy, salsa-laced bilingual banger with the former Fifth Harmony member and the track’s producer Pharrell singing along to the song’s infectious pop chorus. Listen to “Sangria Wine” below.
With hints of reggae and a sultry summer vibe, the new song draws comparisons between Cabello’s dance moves and sweet, summer wine with lyrics like: “It’s cause it’s so awesome how she move her body / She do the sangria wine, sangria wine / Moving side to side, front and behind.” It’s a fun, pop record made to get people out on the dance floor.
The Cuban-born artist previewed “Sangria Wine” at the first stop on her Never Be The Same Tour in Vancouver last month and also performed the song in Los Angeles, where Pharrell came out on stage to sing the track with her. The duo will perform the new single this Sunday at the 2018 Billboard Music Awards, where Cabello is nominated for multiple Billboard Music Awards this year, including Best New Artist.
Cabello and Pharrell previously joined forces on the tropical hit single “Havana,” which anchored her debut solo album Camila. Pharrell produced the track with Canadian record producer Frank Dukes in addition to providing backup vocals.
“He’s so talented in every way and he inspires me so much as an artist, but also, he’s just a beautiful person,” said Cabello of working with Pharrell.
The 21-year-old pop singer is currently on her first solo tour, which includes three Canadian dates, as well as being the opening act alongside Charli XCX for Taylor Swift’s Reputation Tour with multiple stops throughout the U.S., Canada, and Europe.
