Camila Cabello Kicks Off Tour With Unreleased Songs

Camila Cabello has solidified her reputation as a solo artist and has now embarked on her debut tour.

The former Fifth Harmony singer started off her Never Be The Same Tour in Vancouver this past Monday and surprised fans with new, unreleased songs.

The first of the two new tracks is “Sangria Wine”—a sultry yet simple bilingual collaboration with Pharrell. Pharrell is credited with producing the track and sings alongside Cabello in the song’s infectious pop chorus, drawing comparisons between her dance moves and sweet, summer wine.

The 21-year-old singer commanded the stage, dancing intricate choreography in an all-black lace ensemble to the track’s steady-rocking dancehall groove. Check out the performance below.

Cabello and Pharrell previously collaborated on the pop star’s tropical solo hit, “Havana,” which anchored Cabello’s debut album Camila.

“He’s so talented in every way and he inspires me so much as an artist, but also, he’s just a beautiful person,” said Cabello of working with Pharrell.

But “Sangria Wine” wasn’t the only surprise Cabello had planned for her fans.

Later in the show, Cabello performed another new song titled “Scar Tissue” which Cabello co-wrote with Charli XCX. The track is a down-tempo, ballad with R&B roots and emotional lyrics about self-love and healing.

In a sweet moment before the song’s bridge, the singer addressed the audience to detail what the track is about.

“I don’t know if you guys know this, but, scar tissue is the skin that grows on top of skin that’s been burned or hurt, and it’s the body’s way of healing. When I wrote this part of the song, it felt like I was healing,” said Cabello. “I just want you to know that if any of you are going through a tough time, or lost, I just want you to be patient and loving, and brave, and treat yourself as if you were your own best friend.”

Cabello will continue the North American leg of her solo tour this spring, hitting 20 stops in Canada and the U.S. before spending the summer with Charli XCX and Taylor Swift for the Reputation Stadium Tour. You can buy tickets and check out the full list of tour dates on Swift’s official website.
