Cardi B is continuing to promote her debut album Invasion of Privacy with every ounce of energy she has before delivering her first child in July. Ain’t no hustle like a mom hustle. After releasing the video for “Be Careful” earlier this month and quickly following it up with her Jennifer Lopez and DJ Khaled collaboration “Dinero,” Cardi is back with her third music video in three weeks. Slay all day, Cardi.
This time, the Bronx rapper has teamed up with Latin artist Bad Bunny and reggaeton musician J Balvin, who had a huge hit in 2017 with Beyoncé on “Mi Gente.” Looking to strike gold again, the men appear on Cardi’s track “I Like It,” which is taken from the rapper’s debut record.
The new single samples Pete Rodriguez’s famous Latin single “I Like It Like That (A Mi Me Gusta Asi),” with Cardi opening the song by listing all the things she likes in a man and in a diamond. Bad Bunny and J Balvin both provide verses in Spanish, with Cardi B joining the party during the chorus.
Directed by Eif Rivera, the video was shot in Miami and oozes with summertime vibes, with Cardi wearing a handful of beautiful and brightly coloured outfits while she dances and poses her way through the song. It appears the video was shot a few months ago before Cardi began showing with her pregnancy, but if there’s anyone who can show that moms can still get down, it’s Cardi B.
We’d say that this may be Cardi’s last video before giving birth, but we wouldn’t be surprised to see more singles dropped from Invasion of Privacy, as well as a possible video for her Rita Ora, Bebe Rehxa, and Charli XCX collaboration “Girls.”
