Cardi B Kills Her Directorial Debut With ‘Press’ Video

Cardi B says she doesn’t need any press, but we’re giving her coverage anyway.

One day after pleading not guilty to all charges, including assault, stemming from a strip club altercation that took place last summer, the Bronx native is presenting her own courtroom narrative with the release of her music video for her song “Press.” Leading a choreographed routine with an army of nude dancers, it’s clear Cardi is running the show. Incidentally, the (very NSFW) video also marks the rapper’s directorial debut.

The singer wowed us this past weekend with her performance of “Press” at the BET awards, and the new visual is even more unforgettable. Filled with murders, a courtroom scene, and some great style moments (See: the next level blazer in the courtroom) this has Cardi’s trademark over-the-top name all over it.

In true Cardi fashion, the singer took to Instagram this morning to thank her team for their help in making her vision come to life.

“Press” is Cardi’s first solo release of the year, though she did collab on tracks with Bruno Mars, City Girls, and hubby Offset. Following the massive success of her debut album Invasion Of Privacy, her sophomore effort is expected to drop by the end of this year, but she has yet to share any further details.
