Celebs React To This Morning’s Golden Globe Announcement

Globe Nominations Main

Nominees for the 2016 Golden Globes were announced this morning to highlight the best in TV and movies over the past year.

Live from the Beverly Hilton in LA, actors America Ferrera, Angela Bassett, Chloe Grace Moretz and Dennis Quaid read this year’s nominees, which included first-time nominations for Lady Gaga, Amy Schumer and Aziz Ansari.

This morning’s announcement also included an ‘Adele Dazeem’ moment from Quaid, who struggled to pronounce Irish actress Saoirse Ronan’s name for her work in Brooklyn.

There weren’t too many big surprises this year from the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, which gave nominations to The Big Short, The Danish Girl, Carol, The Revenant and The Martian. As for television, Game of Thrones, Veep, Silicon Valley, Outlander, Empire, and Mr. Robot all scored nominations.

Many of the actors nominated this morning took to Twitter to express their gratitude over their nominations.

Check out the full list of nominees below and watch Ricky Gervais host the 2016 Golden Globes on Sunday, January 10 at 8E/5P on CTV and CTV GO.
